Notarization is an important and highly valued service in Japan. Notaries are public servants who are legal professionals appointed by the Minister of Justice and provide not only authenticated documents but are also required to be a repository for certain ‘authentication copies’ for corporations and interested individuals.
Notarization is normally required, much like elsewhere, for certain documents being submitted to the government.
In other situations, it may not be explicitly required but adds an extra, powerful layer of formality and authenticity to the article in question.
We are experienced in helping facilitate the processes required to have a document notarized in Japan.
